My room was spacious and comfy with beautiful views. Breakfast had an amazing variety, but breakfast wait times could be improved. Definitely looking forward to coming back!

Beautiful building, good location and nice staff
minimal health facilities (indoor pool, Sauna, Steam room). An extra charge for a robe and a hat for the pool

The architecture is excellent and gives a sense of space like few places can give when travelling.

The service at the restaurant was excellent, but we noticed the
Meal timings could be a bit slow during peak hours. That, the location's proximity to the city center made it easy to explore. I loved the historical architecture of the building. It really added character to our stay.

Well, the reviews were all correct. The Pousada de Viseu is massive! It has a stately spot on the hill and one would never guess it'a a Pousada. It was mostly empty when we were there which made it seem even bigger and a little lonely. It has recently gone through an extensive, and gorgeous renovation. They have these beautiful, very modern common areas and a bar with basically no one in them. Free WIFi was nice. The rooms were large, beautiful and spotlessly clean and had very nice showers. Other reviews complained that the beds were hard but that didn't bother me. With the crsp white sheets and down pillows and triple sheeting, it was lovely and I felt like a queen. I used the spa to take a jacuzzi, which was free. Beautiful breakfast!
It's part of the Natinal Pousadas of Portugal system which may set the pricing. It was extremely nice but I thought it was a bit pricey. I wish there had been more people there to chat with since they had such wonderful common areas!

The way the old hospital had been converted into a luxery hotel was outstanding especially when you saw the old photographs. Also, the service by all staff was excellent.

The breakfast buffet was extensive, offering a great selection that was continually replenished. The patio area, transformed into a restaurant/lounge, added a unique charm to the stay. The proximity to the town center allowed for easy exploration on foot.
The pool area was small with insufficient sunbeds for all guests.

Ideally situated for walking into the old centre. Good free on site parking. The reception staff were extremely friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them. The rooms were modern and of a good size. We did not use the Spa facilities but they certainly looked to be of a high standard.
We stayed for three evenings and used the restaurant on the first night. Obviously the A La Carte menu was the same, but unfortunately the daily special remained the same for the duration of our stay.

The culinary highlight here was the classic fried fish, an absolute must-try! The breakfast spread was excellent, and the staff were always smiling, we felt welcome. The pool area was a nice spot for a quick dip.
The mattress in our Classic Double or Twin Room was on the hard side was nice. The maintenance of the spa circuit could use a little shine, but overall, everything else sparkled.

Staff extremely polite and helpful. Central to city and amenities. A quiet venue with amenities for leisure, health and relaxation. Everyting reasonably priced. We will stay again when visiting our son. Ample car parking facilities which were secure, although Viseu seemed a crime free city with very friendly inhabitants.
Breakfast coffee was usually only luke warm but staff quick to remedy.

missingWrote a review on 10 Novbeautiful restorationspacious roomvaried breakfastinconsistent service
The Pousada offers a fine blend of historical charm with modern comforts. The restoration of the old hospital is excellent, giving the hotel a unique feel. My room was comfortable and spacious, complete with a lovely terrace overlooking the garden. I enjoyed the breakfast. It had a wide variety of options to satisfy different tastes, although the coffee could have been better. I appreciated the friendly local recommendations provided by the staff, which enhanced my exploration of the area. The service in the bar area was inconsistent. I had to seek out staff members a couple of times for assistance. The pool area was nice but could use more sunbeds-on a busy day, there weren't enough available, which led to some guests sitting on the grass.
